THE COSTA DEL SOL

Map of the Costa del Sol And Inland AndaluciaCovering almost 300 kilometres of superb coastline in the Southern most part of Spain, the Costa del Sol starts at La Herradura in the East and stretches down the coast as far as Gibraltar. The coast crosses the boundaries of three Andalucian Provinces of Malaga, Granada and Cadiz incorporating the city of Malaga (the fifth largest city in Spain).

The Costa del Sol has become a Mecca over the years for those looking for a permanent or holiday home in the sun and consequently has developed into a cosmopolitan region offering superb amenities to cater for the most discerning Northern European tastes whilst retaining its Spanish charm and culture. With its excellent beaches, superb infrastructure, friendly people and excellent amenities this region is for many their first choice when looking to re-locate or invest. Here at Simply Andalucia we specialise in inland and rural property and for those looking for a new home or investment close to the amenities of the Costa del Sol we have a wide assortment of fincas, villas and village houses many just a short drive from the coast.

Assorted pictures of Andalucia

Map of the regions of AndaluciaHot, Vibrant, Vivacious, Colourful-almost everyone's image of Spain. But Spain is a two-faced Senorita. A short drive inland you will discover the other face of this Spanish Lady. Natural, beautiful, scrubbed clean of her makeup, naked of her garish baubles and bangles...that is RURAL SPAIN. White Villages sprinkled in the mountainsides; fincas and villas nestled in the valleys. Many of us in Simply Andalucia discovered this face of Spain many years ago and our love affair with it continues. We can help you to discover it too. We have a superb selection of Spanish country properties covering the most popular areas and village. Spain is an exciting and vibrant country with a wealth of history and tradition. The people are as warm as the climate and they will undoubtedly charm you with their friendly outgoing nature. Spain can be all things to all people and this is especially true here in the Southern most area upon the Costa del Sol. The diversity is immense, from the sophistication of Marbella to the simplicity of the beautiful surrounding white villages only a short drive away. An area where the old meets the new and where the sun shines most days of the year. But most of all a place that rarely disappoints or fails to stimulate!

GUADALHORCE VALLEY

Map of the Guadahorce region of AndaluciaThis area located inland from Mijas and Mijas Costa has become increasingly popular with those seeking a country lifestyle but still having easy access to the beaches and amenities of the coast. The area is particularly attractive being very lush and green most of the year and the views to the surrounding mountains are very beautiful. Within the region are numerous white villages, which over the recent years have become increasingly cosmopolitan and sophisticated, whilst retaining their true Spanish character.

The area is served with an excellent road system and travel time to the coast or the Airport of Malaga is quick and easy. With its excellent amenities including fine shopping and restaurants the Guadalhorce region is understandably a desirable area to live, but be aware prices here do reflect that demand!

AXARQUIA REGION

Map of the Axarquia region of AndaluciaThis lovely region is located East and North of Malaga. Bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the South and the mountains to the North this area was until recently relatively undiscovered. Although still a mainly rural area that relies on agriculture for it’s living, it is now increasingly becoming a popular choice for those looking for that idyllic country retreat. Amongst the hills are some very charming white villages and on the coast Nerja and Torrox are now established tourist areas. For those seeking a rural home this area is well worth a serious look and although not as sophisticated as Guadalhorce the area makes up for it with charm and tranquility. Most rural properties here are in the hills and mountains but on the whole the road systems are very good and the views are worth the effort. Within the villages and towns you will find all necessary services including charming restaurants, local supermarket, health centers and Spanish schools.

ANTEQUERA REGION

Map of the Antequera region of AndaluciaA half an hour drive directly North of Malaga you will arrive in the heart of Andalucia and the historic region of Antequera. The fertile plains of this agricultural region are dominated by the growing of olives and grapes and for centuries the area has grown prosperous via these resources. This is a large area with many towns and villages and which in recent times has experienced an influx of British and Northern Europeans moving into the area driven by low house prices and the opening of the new road system, making the drive to the coast very easy. Here you will still find the house prices below the average but be aware this is changing as more and more people discover the benefits of living here. This area has a charm of its own and will suite those happy to live in a very Spanish area and are willing to integrate into a genuine Spanish community. All necessary services are here including, supermarkets, restaurants, shops, health centers and Spanish schools.

MALAGA REGION

Map of the Malaga region of AndaluciaThis region is very diverse with the City of Malaga at its center and carries on Northwards bordering Antequera, Axarquia, Guadalhorce and incorporates part of the Costa del Sol. Malaga itself is Spain’s fifth largest city and boasts superb shopping, wonderful restaurants and a wealth of culture. Within the region we have Alhaurin de la Torre (neighbouring Alhaurin el Grande) which in recent years has become very smart with excellent amenities, and being only ten minutes from Malaga, is popular for commuting to the city. Prices here reflect its close proximity to Malaga and the coast!

Casabermeja is directly North via the motorway and borders Colmenar in the Axaquia region. Almogia is a sleepy village to the North West and lies in a very attractive rural area. The village and surrounding area has a good-sized foreign community and prices have recently increased due to its popularity!
