Ronda´s origin starts in prehistoric times and also inhabited by the Celts. Around the time of Christ the Romans were the rulers - the Roman stronghold of Acinipo, with its ancient amphitheatre is situated on the outskirts. Later the Arabs brought prosperity, and named it, “Madinat Runda” - there are many examples of the Arabic legacy throughout the town. The bullring is the oldest in Spain and one of the largest in the World. Pedro Romero born in Ronda is Spain’s most famous and revered matador – killing 5,600 bulls in his lifetime.

People describe Ronda as a local town with the shops of a city. Everything you need is right on your door step. Tapas bars, restaurants, designer shops and local craft shops.

The countryside around Ronda is surprisingly green - so if you enjoy walking then the area around Ronda is great.
